Their criteria measures actions that are proven to reduce risk of heart disease, stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular concerns, such as quitting smoking or exercising more.

How Employers Can Help With Heart Health

As an employer, you can improve your workplace wellness program by making heart health more of a priority. First, identify opportunities for lunch and learns or other educational programs to help your employees grasp the importance of cardiovascular health.

Next, consider adding clinical testing or biometric screening to your workplace wellness program. Regular cholesterol checks, blood glucose testing, and more can reveal so much about your employees’ health. Adding this voluntary component can not only lead to lower health costs, but more importantly, better health.
